Port Macquarie

Departed Yamba relatively early because the day's trip was expected to be lengthy.  Hate to rub it in, but it was a lovely warm day with sunshine all day and a bright blue sky the whole time.  Maximum temp was 18 degrees!!.
Stopped briefly at Coffs Harbour, marvelling at how much the town has grown since we were there last about 40 years ago.
We decided in advance to have lunch at Nambucca Heads, which has also grown to be quite large (more than 10,000 people now).  There was a VW rally on today, which we watched with a clear view from the boat shed where we had lunch.  There must have been more than 150 vehicles, in all states of repair - beetles, combies, convertibles, souped-up models, and some like "rust-buckets".  Very noisy but entertaining to watch.  We had trouble driving through to the wharf because of the supervised detours on many of the streets.
Port Macquarie seems like quite an interesting place, with much to see, do, eat, and drink.  Will begin exploring tomorrow.

A quick stop at Coffs Harbour.  Busy boating place.

And then on to Nambucca Heads for lunch.

Compared to the mouse hole of last week, this apartment is going to be great.

A quick walk up to the mouth of the Hastings river.  Note the Decorated break wall.

The end of a beautiful day.

From the roof of these apartments after sunset.  Even the campers down below look cosy.
